Science buildings are among the most complex teaching facilities on any college campus. While traditional, dedicated labs for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and other sciences may always be necessary, there is a growing need for spaces that support interdisciplinary collaboration and project-based learning among various disciplines. These spaces must be designed to facilitate new teaching pedagogies, improve communication between faculty and students, and provide a greater degree of flexibility, particularly as supported research projects ebb and flow.
