Cornell University

We partnered with Cornell University to transform the fourth floor of Mann Library into a vibrant home for the University’s Department of Communication. This AIA award winning design challenges the traditional approach to departmental suites by pulling private offices away from the exterior wall so that light and views are preserved for all. A central “Hub” brings students, faculty, and staff together for academic and social activities. The department’s vision of promoting a greater understanding of human communication is carried through to the design with themes of transparency, collaboration, and openness.

Our other work at Cornell includes renovations to the Martin Y. Tang Welcome Center at Noyes Lodge. The Center showcases Cornell’s excellence and diversity in a location that celebrates the beauty of the campus. The renovation created a Center that is welcoming, comfortable, engaging, full of energy, and powerfully reinforces the Cornell brand. The building now positively impacts the first impression of thousands of prospective students and their families.
