Mohawk Valley Community College

A physical campus is a community space and part of a college’s identity. Increased enrollment and new programs presented an opportunity to reimagine Mohawk Valley Community College’s Rome Branch Campus to reflect the quality of the programs offered there. Formerly dominated by parking lots, we transformed the grounds with a new campus green embraced by additions that showcase the College’s Culinary program and a new Learning Commons. These glass-enclosed pavilions frame the renovated existing building and invite visitors to engage in campus activities while providing students with views of the new campus green.

Our work on the main campus includes the Jorgensen Athletic/Events Center that accommodates the College’s extensive intercollegiate athletic programs and offers a venue for community events. This project features a naturally-lit Field House that uses virtually no daily electricity, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and extensive renovations of the existing facilities to support student and community wellness.
