Castleton University

A campus center should be a welcoming place and the center of student life. It should present a clear identity to students, faculty, and visitors. These were the goals of our design to transform the existing campus center into a vibrant hub of student activity. The most prominent feature is the south-facing solarium that provides an inviting visual connection between the exterior and interior and serves as a lantern at night for students living in the surrounding residence halls. This AIA award winning project achieved LEED Gold Certification by greatly improving the building’s energy performance.

Since 2003, we have partnered with Castleton University to complete dozens of projects together. Through planning and design, we have impacted every building on Castleton’s campus. Our work there includes residence halls, instructional space, athletic facilities, dining halls, and a large pavilion for commencement, ice skating, and community events.
